2nd Week of "Dancing With The Stars" Men & Women Compete Against Each Other!

Some Las Vegas Odds Makers have chosen Donny Osmond and Aaron Carter as their favorites to win the entire show. Only time will tell. Donny is already sporting some injuries, and he claims to have dropped his partner Kym on her head. Their both still smiling, so that's a good sign.

We'll evaluate each couple just as we did last week, with comments, critiques, and scores. We'll compare our scores to the show's judges, and we'll give our take on all the controversy. "We" is myself and my mom. The men and the women contestants are against each other this week.

I don't how far and wide this problem was, but we had huge channel availability issues on our satellite the entire night. So here goes. we'll do the best we can.

Aaron and Karina: Quickstep-This was fantastic! I loved the costumes, the dancing, the energy, and the theatrics. He was smooth, suave, coordinated, and very musical.
My Score 9 Mom's Score 8
Average Score 8.5
Comparison with Show's Judges Scores of 9,9,9 Average Score 9

Chuck and Anna: Tango-Chuck did better this week. He still looks very mad/scary, but it kind of went with this dance. He's still got a long way to go and scary isn't going to work with every dance style.
My Score 6 Mom's Score 6 Average Score 6
Comparison with Show's Judges Scores of 6,7,6
Average Score 6.3

Mark and Lacey: Quickstep-Very good. I really like their costumes, the energy, and the theatrics. I thought Mark did better than last week, and he hung in there. The judges said he slipped. I did not see that, so good recovery.
My score 7 Mom's Score 8 Average Score 7.5
Comparison with Show's Judges Score of 7,7,7 Average Score 7

Donny and Kym: Jive-Great job Donny! You came through even if you are little older. Good dancing, theatrics, technique, and what a performer.
My score 9 Mom's score 9 Average Score 9
Comparison with Show's Judges Score of 8,9,8
Average Score 8.3

Louie and Chelsea: Hive-Louis did a good job, but not a great job. I expected more from him this week. His gymnastic skills will help him, but they won't win the day. He's got to improve his sense of timing. I still enjoyed him, and expect to see him back next week.
My score 7 Mom's score 6 Average Score 6.5
Comparison with Show's Judges Score of 6, 7,6 Average Score 6.33

Mike and Anna: Quickstep- Only got to see part of this dance, but he did so much better. Great smile, much more personality, and he really came through to the best of his ability. His partner did a better job in choreography this week as well. Mike has been a crowd pleaser both weeks, but the judges enjoyed him more this week.
My score 7 Mom's Score 6 Average Score 6.5
Comparison with Show's Judges Score of 7,7,6 Average Score 6.67

Tom and Cheryl: Tango-Last week the conservative danced to "Wild Thing"; this week he's doing the Tango. He's already got stress fractures in his toes, do good luck. A little stiff in the upper body, but great footwork. He almost dropped his partner at the very end, but all in all, he did do very well.
My score 7 Mom's score 6 Average Score 6.5

Comparison with Show's Judges Score of 6,6,6 Average Score 6

Debbie and Max: Tango-Every year, we have to hear Max's partner either cry or tell him off, because his idea of being tough is having unrealistic expectations and a cruel tongue. He just may have met his match this year, but she probably won't be on the show long enough to teach him any great lessons. Due to satellite or station issues, we missed the actual perfomance, so can't score this performance.

Melissa and Mark:
Jive-Nervous Melissa wasn't as nervous this week. She appeared to enjoy herself more, but was still a little heavy in her dancing. She needs to be lighter on her feet, especially during the jive.

Mya and Dmitry : Jive-Mya, you're a star! Personality, theatrics, footwork, and technique. It was all fantastic! The choreography was soooo good.
My score 9 Mom's Score 8 Average Score 8.5
Comparison with Show's Judges Score of 9,9,9 Average Score 9

Kathy and Tony: Quickstep-This style of dance was much more in line with her personality. She is too careful though, but I did see some natural elegance this week.
My score 6 Mom's score 7

Natalie and Alec: Quickstep-Our Olympic swimmer started out somewhat stiff, but she relaxed more mid-stream. She lost her posture towards the end, but her footwork was pretty good. She looked amazing in her lavender dress.
My score 6 Mom's score 7. Average Score 6.5
Comparison with Show's J
udges Score of 7,7,7 Average Score 7

Joanna and Derek: Jive-This is a good partnership. There wasn't as much jive footwork as I'm use to seeing, and it wasn't as clean as it could have been. They did have a lot of energy though. Don't count these two out though. He just needs to harness her energy.
My score 7 Mom's Score 7 Average Score 7
Comparison with Show's Judges Score of 6,7,7 Average Score 6.7

Kelly and Louie: Tango-Not as good this week. She was too stiff, and her posture was pulled in too close to Louie. You could tell she was not happy with herself, but she still has huge potential. Hang in there Kelly, you'll be back next week.

Out "Top 5 Ranking" of the contestants from tonight's show:
1st Place Ranking: It's a tie between Aaron and Mya
2nd Place Ranking: Donny came in next.
3rd Place Ranking: Mark and Natalie tied for the next placement
I suspect that Kathy Ireland will probably go home this week.

The actual results of Tuesday Night's Results Show are that Kathy Ireland is leaving the show. No big surprise, but we will miss her positive outlook.
